Getting right to the meat of the issue –
There are 2 Critical Steps to address first before we can lose belly fat:
-
Lowering Stress Levels
-
Lowering Insulin Levels
Belly fat is literally a killer! It kills self esteem, it kills energy levels, it kills mood and can eventually kill you! Bold statement? Not really, so let me explain. Our body deals with stress by protecting the internal organs with a layer of visceral fat. Our insulin levels become unstable and cause the production of belly fat. The more stresses our body handles internally creates more body fat, and dreaded belly fat.
Lowering Stress Levels…
Our body responds to stress internally as well as externally. Externally we deal with wrinkles on the face, dry or irritated skin, bags under the eyes, and even dry brittle hair among a multitude of other visible symptoms of stress. If you can see these problems externally, what do you think your internal system is experiencing because of stress? Irritable stomach and bowel issues, trouble with healing and inflammation or even sleeplessness due to thoughts and worry are all direct symptoms of internal stress. One of the biggest problems we experience internally that shows up externally is BELLY FAT! Our insulin levels get out of balance and the body responds with belly fat.
Lowering Insulin Levels…
Lowering carbs is the surest and quickest way to get insulin levels under control. If you are serious about losing weight, you must control your insulin levels. You may ask, “Okay, so how do I do that?” The fastest and simplest way to do that is cut back on your sugary carbohydrate intake. Bad carbohydrates are the major macro-nutrient that makes your insulin levels rise. Get your carb intake under control, and your insulin levels become more stable. Eating the proper complex carbohydrates our body needs gives us the vitamins and nutrients essential to proper bodily functions. Exercise is essential for strong bones and muscle building which in turn help the body burn fat.
These are critical first steps in losing belly fat. Remember, not all carbohydrates are bad. Our bodies need some complex carbohydrates for energy especially when you are adding exercise to your daily routine.
Simply put – you must burn more calories than you take in to effectively lose weight.
Reducing stress is a topic all it’s own, but it is so vital to good health and fat loss. Exercise, eating right and stress reduction go hand in hand. When you eat properly without added sugars and bad carbohydrates the body responds favorably by reducing inflammation and insulin levels. This in turn helps reduce belly fat. Like we consistently say, “There is no magic pill.” Keeping the body healthy and lean is hard work, but reducing stress and insulin levels is a critical step to starting off right. Let us know how you are progressing.
